Outline of Research Paper

Introduction:

Brief history of alcohol in the United States; how it affects a person physically and mentally.

Second Paragraph:

What is going on in history at that time? The reasons of drafting the amendment in the first place; what happened? Who suggested it? What was the content of the amendment? Examples with primary sources. What were the steps involve in the development?

Third Paragraph:
The impact of the amendment that brought to the society and history of United States; economically, the perception of alcohol, the rise of gangsters, smuggling, armed robberies, etc. The debates, different point of views on the amendment over time will be discussed as well.

Fourth Paragraph:
The repeal of the eighteenth amendment by the twenty-first amendment; the reasons of the repeal and how the process went. Details of the twenty-first amendment. The law of modern time against alcohol consumption.

Conclusion:
My point of view to the whole incident, also suggesting if there is any improvement we can put on the policy. The comparison of the old policies to the new. Final thoughts.

The HIstory And Affect of The Eighteenth Amendment

The Essay I am writing about is about the history and affect of the eighteenth amendment in the U.S history. The eighteenth amendment is Prohibition of alcohol existed in the U.S. between 1920 and 1933. In the essay, I will talk about how Prohibition came to be, what it was really like, and how it effects American life even today is a story of unusual ideas, fascinating characters, surprising events, and unexpected outcomes.
